Miraculous Freebirth: This mother, Kaylee Wilson, had a previous cesarean section and experienced a crazy pregnancy and delivery. Her homebirth midwife abandoned her because she was past 42 weeks along, resulting in a cesarean section at the end of her previous pregnancy. After being sent to a hospital, she was forced to undergo an induction, which sadly resulted in a cesarean section.
She reclaimed her power and birth rights and took charge of her pregnancy this time. Her waters began to leak at 42+1. After that, she went through six days of early labor and pushing without realizing it until around thirty hours before giving birth to her baby.
Looking attentively after her baby boy’s birth, we can tell that his head was shaped to the side, suggesting that he was asynclitic. This could be one of the causes of the early, involuntary pushing and the “longer” labor (not that there is a normal labor). When the contraction isn’t powerful enough to turn the baby around, your body will try to push harder involuntarily to get additional force.
This birth story demonstrates how important it is to have patience and trust. Many healthcare professionals and hospitals would have ended this labor well before the baby was ready to be delivered. However, it’s evident that all labors of this kind only require time for mother and child to become used to one another; eventually, they will figure things out on their own.
The most protective thing this mother could have done for her child and herself was to give birth naturally. Given all the deviations from usual that she went through, I can assure you that if this hadn’t been a freebirth, she would have needed a second cesarean section.
Throughout the entire birthing process, she was accompanied by her spouse, mother, three daughters, and an unlicensed midwife. She gave birth in a natural setting in a field outside their house.
