How to Feed your Baby: Laid-Back or Straddle-Hold

Chill breastfeeding is as cool as it gets! Leaning back while breastfeeding not only lets your baby be fully involved but also keeps you in a comfy, laid-back position. Just kick back, relax, and breastfeed.

Get cozy on a pillow with your baby’s front against yours. Some moms like sitting up fairly straight, while others prefer leaning back almost flat. When you lean back, your body naturally supports your baby, leaving your hands free. Just ensure your baby’s body, especially the head and shoulders, is well-supported.

Put your baby’s cheek close to your breast. Some moms use one hand to guide their breast towards the baby. It’s your call—go with whatever feels most comfortable. Your baby will naturally find your nipple, latch on, and start nursing.
