For the right breast, keep your baby level and facing up, on your right side. Place your baby’s head close to your right nipple, and support the baby’s back and legs under your right arm. Gently hold the base of your baby’s head with your right palm. A pillow under your right arm can help support the baby’s weight. To avoid straining your back, don’t lean down to your baby; instead, bring the baby to you. Do the opposite for the left side.
